Tobacco contain a key ingredient known as nicotine, which alters the mood and disturbs the pituitary glands by stimulating the central nervous system for few hours and keeps the body energized, but when the effects subsidize, the body will start to demand for more.

Smoking tobacco doesn't only affects the brain but it also damages the eye, deform the muscle, brings about anxiety, sleep disorder and much more. If taken over a long period of time, it makes the lung to lose its ability to filter harmful chemicals, which in return causes pulmonary impairment leading to chronic lung disease.

Smoking tightens the blood vessels and increase blood pressure, thereby disturbing normal cardiac functions. Nicotine lowers the good cholesterol and thus induces atherosclerosis. Smoking affects the fertility of women and can cause miscarriage in pregnant women. In men, smoking in long run causes erectile dysfunction and lower sperm count.
