Sometimes, people misread chemistry with others
and end up getting turned down when they make a
move. The question is, can you remain friends with
someone who rejects you?

According to relationship expert, Marie Dubuque, you
can remain friends with a person who clearly told you
‘no’ when you asked to date them.

Dubuque says there are certain conditions to maintaining
that kind of relationship because thing may become a little
awkward afterwards.

Some of these are:

1. You cannot hope that he or she will suddenly date
you, because that’ll spoil the friendship you have if you
wish to keep them by your side for a long time. If you
cannot be platonic friends with your crush, then
distancing yourself is the right thing to do.

2. You have to pretend it never happened. The trick is
to act normal and the only way you can do that is to
behave the way you were before you asked them for a
relationship.

3. Meet other people, go out on dates and you’ll see
that you can express yourself better whenever your
crush comes around.
